The Boxcar Traveler
Harry is a young man in depression era America, who loses everything. From rich stockbroker, to penniless, with no direction, and even less hope. A chance meeting with an older man leads Harry to fall in love with the notion of traveling the country via boxcars. He falls in love with the romanticism of it all. But the harshness and realities of this way of life, soon have harry wondering if this was indeed a wise decision.
Harry begins his journey, renewed, with a sense of hope. However, as he experiences the realities of life during the Great Depression, he finds survival to be a struggle. Harry falls in and out of love, reacquires wealth only to lose it again.
Herb is the quintessential nice-guy. Born into extreme wealth, he is generous and trusting…to a fault. A chance meeting with a down- trodden Harry reveals Herb’s generous nature. Together, the pair make great travelling buddies, and herb finally finds the love of his life.

Initially guarded and nervous, Helen soon uses her seductiveness to melt Harry and get whatever she wants. Ultimately, her dark and mysterious side surfaces, and she can either run from her past, or closer to her true love.
A Villain’s Villain, Tank is a mean and surly Railroad cop. Called “Bulls”, Tank is a huge, bald-headed monster.
Tank starts off mean and it only gets worse from there. Eventually he’s involved in a battle to the death.
Tommy is a happy go lucky guy, that sure knows how to defend himself. He has a chance meeting with Harry and the two really “hit it off”.
An infectious, bubbly and charming personality, Tommy’s dark past soon reveals itself. Will tragedy strike the former world champion boxer?
Beth is the personification of a good woman. A wonderful and faithful wife and a dedicated mother to Harry.
Beth is beset by tragedy early on and proves to be a survivor. All her efforts are put into raising harry as well as she can.
From a grief-stricken widow, Beth slowly opens up to the notion of traveling and goes on a wild ride across America.
Ed is a well-dressed and typical Wall Street stock broker. Affluent and funny, he befriends a shy Harry.
Ed goes from riches to rags. Suffering through the great depression, he runs into his old friend Harry after many years. Will good fortune be bestowed upon him once again?
Trudy is an outgoing and flirtatious waitress. She flirts her way into herb’s heart and the two soon become a couple.
Trudy comes from an abusive background and her insecurities soon become evident. Will the dangerous mountains of Arizona be her undoing?
Victor is a smallish, tough, wise Mexican jack of all trades. Always on the run with his family which includes two young sons, Victor proves an invaluable addition the Harry’s traveling team.
Victor is a bit reserved to start but his true outgoing personality soon presents itself.
Victor, as he continues to get comfortable with Harry, shows his tenacious and brave side. A true family man, he will do anything to protect his family. His good heart pays off as Harry’s generosity puts the family back on track.
Mary is Harry’s first love. Sophisticated, wealthy and a bit on the snobbish side, she demands nothing but the best fro Harry, and everyone.
Mary starts off to be a supportive and loving wife. However, as soon as Harry loses everything, he soon finds out that he will lose Mary as well.
Jake is a tough old farmer. Weathered and gruff, he is the first person that Harry meets on his travels.
As tough as Jake is, he is soft, as well. A sweetheart of a caring and lonely old man, he teaches Harry many a lesson. About survival, and becoming a man.
Cassie appears to be a very quiet and shy wife, to Victor. She is a caring and protective mom to their two young boys, Mikey and Matty.
First appearances can surely be misleading as Cassie’s character becomes more and more assertive, eventually becoming obvious that she is the true leader of the family.
T.J. is an old, African American man who has become hardened by societies harsh and unjust ways. A bit short on patience as well as long on experience, harry truly takes a liking to this wise man.
His impatient and gruff exterior soon gives way to a man with a heart of gold, a teacher and a loving friend.
